Synopsis
When it comes to understanding a country, there is nothing like an insider’s view. A nation’s character – its fears, hopes and obsessions – are all reflected in the way a country reports itself to its own people. Recently the series has travelled to Afghanistan, Italy, South Africa, Australia and Brazil.
A new series of My Country will be featured this October, from Nigeria, the most populous country in Africa. To commemorate 50 years of independence this special series on BBC World News will feature documentaries made by local film-makers, about Nigerian issues. When it comes to understanding a country, there is nothing like an insider’s view. A nation’s character – its fears, hopes and obsessions – are all reflected in the way a country reports itself to its own people.
Films about Nigerian social and cultural issues will be included, offering a fresh and revealing perspective.
