Synopsis

Former BBC Senior Foreign Correspondent Michael Peschardt spends an average of three days with each of his guests, he interviews them about the people, places, and issues that really matter to them, encouraging them to open up and talk sincerely and passionately about their lives.

In this new series he interviews an eclectic mix of guests from the Asia Pacific region.

    • 8 April - Ratheesh Yoganathan

      Michael travels to Chennai to meet one of the most dynamic young business leaders in Asia. Ratheesh Yoganthan is the co-founder and CEO of Lebara Pty Ltd - one of the world's fastest growing mobile phone companies which specialises in providing cheap calls for migrant workers wanting to keep in touch with families back home. Lebara started by providing services primarily for the global Indian diaspora but has expanded rapidly into other markets around the world.

We look at the financial figures behind the sport to find out why it has such a strong hold on corporate sponsors and advertisers.

    • 22 April - Kishore Lulla

      Michael meets the man who has been credited for doing more than anyone else to transform the fortunes of the Bollywood film industry to turn it into a truly global business. Kishore Lulla leads Eros International - India's dominant media and entertainment company.

    • 29 April - Akira Isogawa

      Born and brought up in Japan, Akira has become one of Australasia's leading fashion designers. His clothes are shown in Paris and around the world. He takes Michael backstage for one of his latest shows to explain the business of design and the relevance of haute couture in the ever expanding global retail fashion industry.

    • 6 May - Olivia Lum

      One of Asia most influential female business leaders tells Michael her remarkable and inspirational life story. Brought up as an orphan in a remote Malaysian village, she is now the CEO and President of Hyflux LTD which has extensive business interests in China and Singapore providing water and environmental services to governments and private corporations alike.

    • 20 May - Her Excellency Quentin Bryce

      An exclusive behind the scenes look at the life and work of Australia's first female Governor General. Michael spends four days with the Governor General on her official government aircraft as they cross the country, visiting her childhood home on a wool property in remote Queensland and attending functions and investitures. It is the first time the Governor General has agreed to appearing in such a programme.

    • 27 May - M.F. Husain

      India's greatest living artist invites Michael into his studio to watch him at work on what have become his almost priceless canvasses.

    • 3 June - Li Na

      Michael spends time on tour with the greatest tennis player China has ever produced. Li Na is the first person from China to reach the final of a Grand Slam . She gives the inside the story on her rise to considerable fame and fortune and the pressures of having your husband as your tennis coach.

    • 10 June - Son Pet

      The woman bringing books and learning to the children of Laos.

    • 17 June - Tobie Puttock

      Chef and social entrepreneur.
